Common questions
Before you submit
Can every STL file be edited?
Not economically. STL stores a surface mesh rather than the original design history. Simple changes can be practical, while precise feature changes may require reconstruction or a native CAD source.
Can you remove a creator logo or attribution?
Not when that would violate the model license or another party’s rights. Include the source link so the permitted use can be reviewed.
Is resizing the same as changing dimensions?
No. Uniform scaling changes every feature, including holes and wall thickness. A fit-critical change often needs targeted remodeling instead.
Can the modified file also be manufactured?
Yes, when requested. Model modification and physical production remain separate scopes so geometry approval, process choice, price and delivery stay clear.
