Commercial-use 3D models

Start with a source-reported license that permits commercial copying, then verify its conditions before selling printed copies. A free download or an editable CAD file is not permission to sell.

The examples below are selected license snapshots, not a complete catalog or a printability certification. Attribution, ShareAlike and NoDerivatives conditions still matter; copyright permission does not clear trademarks, patents or other third-party rights.

Check permission and files separately

  1. Open the author’s original listing and verify that the license covers the file you want, including any record-level exceptions.
  2. Keep the author credit, license link and a note of your modifications where required. ShareAlike can require the same license for adaptations.
  3. For CC BY-ND, the commercial Yes applies only to unadapted copies. “Modify & share: No” is not a claim that all private editing is prohibited.
  4. The source-file filter requires reported STEP, STP, F3D or SCAD metadata. It excludes unknown formats; STEP does not guarantee a native parametric feature history.
  5. Inspect scale, wall thickness, geometry, supports and intended use before printing. For an unclear license, ask the rights holder instead of assuming permission.

Compare model file formats or check our model sources. This is a source-field summary, not legal advice or an independent rights clearance.
